A Tape drive is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on magnetic tape.


  • MTF - Microsoft Tape format. Used by NTBackup (.BKF files are MTF format) and Backup Exec
  • tar - Used by unix tar as well as NETBackup
